tnsping error

Hi All,

   I am facing an error (after installation) while doing tnsping from a DEC Alpha system. Following error is received :

The error message says that the user has insufficient privilege, while I am performing this operation as oracle user. I am not able to connect to remote hosts as well(same error). While I can access this database from remote database without any problems.

Have I missed something, obviously yes.. but what ?? Could someone tell me the remedy.....
