I only have one year's experience, but I did a test on NT and saw no difference between raw partitions and ntfs on NT, would be curious to = hear
what difference people found on Solaris.

Maybe I didn't see any difference because I had only one controller on = my
test server? Who knows.

Hi there, another newbie question for the gurus.

I will be running Oracle 8i on Solaris 8 and was
wondering about other's experiences and opinions about
raw devices v.s. the file system.

From the Administrator's Reference, there may be
problems with ULIMIT and moving data files around.=20
Has anyone else experienced trouble? Anything I
	should beware of?

	As always, thx.

	MJ
