Temp segments weirdness (was Stastpack problem or maybe k$kglob table problem)

When a transaction is going to the temp tablespace it hangs with an 'sort segment request' event (as seen in v$session_wait).

There is nothing in v$sort_usage.
In dba_segments there are 9 segments with tablespace=temp and segment_type=temporary. Doing a coalesce on the temp tablespace does nothing.

What is going on (Oracle 8.1.5) ?
