I have seen this in a vendor application that I support. They installed the full 8.1.5 server and client and then simply copied the 7.3.X OCI libraries into the %ORACLE_HOME%\OCI73 directory. I am not an expert on this topic but their app works....

List,
all our 'C" programs written using 7.3.2 libraries are returning the following error when used with 815 (without compiling)

ORA-01019: unable to allocate memory in the user side

also, i cannot compile the 'C' programs again !! becasue it apparently the name of the libs are not the same as in 7.3.2 !!

what should i do ??

TIA Rahul
