Yeah, and several years ago they said they'd no longer support OCI too. Leave it to Oracle to say one thing and still do the other at the same time. Face it, it's a business thing, don't cut off your nose just to appease your foot.

Yes, several months ago it came to light that Oracle had announced
that they won't support traditional client/server after 2006.
