Histograms

Hi,
I am trying to analyze a column using histograms with the bucket size of 80,after analyzing when I check the num_bucket from user_tab_columns of that analyzed column it is showing as 3.
Can somebody tell me what is the probs and how I can solve this issue Thanks in advance
