Simply put: by removing it. :o)

Oracle for Objects or other native (Oracle) drivers are much faster then ODBC. If you have to use ODBC, you may want to use ODBC drivers from Intersolv or other 3rd party suppliers. Both the Microsoft and Oracle drivers perform just about average.
