Did the delete finally finish, or did you abort it? Are there any columns = in the table that are used as foreign references? Is there any reason that = you can't issue a truncate table? Are your rollback segments large enough = to hold all the data in all 30000 records?

Any idea why a delete of all the rows in a table might take hours when there are only 30,000 rows? There are no other users on the system. Rowlength is about 120.
