unix question

Dear List,

sorry this maybe off topic. Is there anyway to find out port number that is provided and can be used in Unix (Digital Unix 4.0d). Like Oracle Listener is using port 1521 or 1522, is it possible to give port number 1525 ? Please advise. Thank you.
