svrmgr gets ORA-12545 error

Anyone,



We just installed 8.0.5 on a DEC alpha and when I tried to enter server
manager to create the DB, here is what happened:



% svrgmrl


Oracle Server Manager ........


(c) Copyright ..........


ORA-12545:  Connect failed because target host or object does not exist
SVRMGR>



I checked the tnsnames.ora file and it has the correct IP address (numeric)
in it.



Any ideas?
