Congrats on the Novell and Oracle set up. They can be fun. In the @ORACLE_HOME\nlm directory there are the files ORASTART.NLM and = ORASTOP. NLMThose files call the STARTDB.SQL and STOPDB.SQL. It is in the = SQL files that you code the setting of the instance and the connect = internal/password commands.
If you are going to start or stop more than one instance on the database = on Novell, I would recommend a PAUSE statement between each orload svrmgr = command. This will require you to hit a key between loads or unloads but = it is better that hitting the database and Novell with a lot of svrmgr = commands at once.
That version of Novell and Oracle are you on? We are using Novell 4.11 sp6 = and Oracle 7.3.4. It works good but to much svrmgr activity without = shuttong the server down will create a lot of memory leaks and resources = not released messages.

Hi everyone,

I finally made it - I have my Oracle server running on Netware with full NDS integration. It only took me two years to figure out how to do it... ;-)

I got most help from a recent article in Novell Developer Notes; recommended reading. Should anyone be interested, I can provide a step by step instruction.

One question, though: I remember from earlier experiments that it is somehow possible to hardcode the password for database startup in some configuration file, but I've forgotten how. Instead of diving into the several hundreds pages of doc's, does anyone know how to do it?
