You probably have not heard much, because there is not much problems.

Our small support team & developers, have been supporting some 80 Installations around the world.

I have been here since 1995. We are running ORACLE 7.0.12 on NetWare 4.11 . These databases are not large, 2GB, with only some 20-50 users at any one time. The clients are DOS 6.2, with Forms 3, and Pro-C reports. The databases require very little DBA work, and with all the remote locations, is done thru dialup modems.

We have been converting to new systems, with Novell 4.11 and ORACLE 7.3.4, using Forms 5.0 and Reports 3.0 .

We have the all new databases, at two physical locations now, with up to 4 instances on each Novell server. We connect them to CITRIX METAFRAME NT systems, so that we can use thin client browsers, to connect thruout the world, instead of using client/server.
We have 3 Novell servers, 12 databases, on 1 system. And 2 Novell servers, 8 databases, on the other system.
Because we can run thru the Internet now, we can combine the 80+ down to some 20 databases now. After some re-writing of the application we hope to get it down to 1 someday.

The speed using the thin clients is almost the same as client/server.

I hope to upgrade to ORACLE 8.1.6 & Novell 5.1 in a year or two.

Our team does all the development & DBA & some NetWare SA .

These systems run pretty much all the time, without much problems.
