SQL*LOADER - Trailing spaces

Hi,

Question

We have several ASCII-files in some standard format that we need to upload. So we user a control-file in SQL*LOADER. Easy!

There is one field wich has a length of two (VARCHAR2) but is mostly only one position. Shouldn't the trailing space be left out ?

What I now get is a field 'A ' thus length(field) = 2 where I would want and expect 1 ...

Any ideas and/or hints ??

HP-UX 10.20
