I don't know about the internal error when you try to start the = service, but
you can always change the path in your DOS environment:

System applet | Properties | Environment --> ensure that your Oracle8 directory is no longer in the path, or put the old orant first if you = want
to default to Oracle7 \bin.

I think the internal error is caused by two listeners trying to access = the
same port number.

You might want to remove the Oracle8 listener, or disable it in the = Services
applet. I don't know if it will solve your problem, but it's a start.

on the same ma

        Hi,

	We are facing the same problem .One of my colleague has installed
	Compaq archiver 5 which has oracle 8 component on a machine running
	SAP with Oracle 7.3.3.2.0 which has sqlnet v2.There were two
listener
	services running OracleTNSListener80 and OracleTNSListener.After the

	archiver was uninstalled the OracleTNSListener80 has been removed
and=20
	now there is only one OracleTNSLIstener service.But when we try to=20
	start the service we get the error 2140 Windows NT Internal Error.

	When I try to start the lsnrctl from the dos prompt it is looking
into
	the directlry of the Net80 files which doesn't exist now after the=20
	uninstall.It has to look into the present Oracle Home.But it is not
	happening.

	How do I solve this problem and get the listener service starting.

	Pls advice

	Ravindra

	as long as you set the ports to different numbers, you can have
multiple=20
	listeners on a machine
