Looks ok, Carlos.
The ps shows id of 1 which is root
and the ls shows root as owner.

Review the id's shown in /etc/passwd file (carefully......you probably have

a shadow process, so you don't want to edit this file!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...just
cat the file or print it)

Hi,

        Is there any normal situation when the user owner of the /proc/<pid> directory is diferent from the user that I see with ps?.

Let me show it:

  oracle  1398     1  0 19:11:09 ?        0:07 ora_dbwr_xx
  oracle  1396     1  0 19:11:09 ?        0:00 ora_pmon_xx

$ calvarez:/proc

> ls -ld 1398
dr-x--x--x 5 root dba 736 jun 11 19:11 1398

Any ideas?

TIA Carlos
