user owned parallel processes

Has anyone ever noticed an ora_pxxx parallel process running under a user other than oracle? I've noticed this in the past couple of days (hadn't really looked prior to that) on an HP 11 box. One db instance runs all parallel processes as oracle, the other will run most processes as oracle, but when a user executes a large query when logged on locally, the processes are owned by that userid (the database processes are, of course, owned by oracle). Anyone know why the processes are spawned as the userid instead of oracle?

Cheers,
GC
