Now STOP THAT! I am not all that senior, except perhaps in age. I've only been doing this about 10 years.

As for remembering syntax.... it changes from version to version, right? So I look it up... besides, if I have now shoved in the information from the data internals class, I had to shove OUT something... syntax goes, I know where to find it...

My point was that people are telling me that they are junior and mid-level DBAs when they can't answer simple questions (like.... if a query is going to return 30% of the rows in a table, how would you tune it? [Answer I got: hint it to use an index. EHHHHH! Next contestant please!])

And I have learned, if the letters OCP are at the very top of the resume.... they usually don't know what they are doing.
