Hi Deepak:

I think it's a nice idea but probably wouldn't work in practice. Some of us are in one city/country one month and another the next!

Usually you can intimate a person's location from various sources. The first is the domain name of the sender, i.e. .uk for Britain, .au Australia, .nl Holland, .ru Rumania etc. Yes, some non-US companies use .com suffixes
(or multi-nationals) but then you can often guess where a person is by the
posting time. Europe is about 5 hrs ahead of EST and Oz/NZ is about 12hrs ahead of Europe (where's my world time map when I need it?!) HTH.

Colin.
p.s. currently I'm on PDT but next week I'll be on BST (GMT+1)!

Just out of curiosity I was wondering if we could mention our city, country etc., with our signatures. I know this is a large group with people from all around the world. It's another matter if someone doesn't want to disclose this info. To start with, I am based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. I know Bill Gentry, for one, will be too keen to reply to this.
