We're intending to move to 8.1.6.1.1 as soon as possible in the hopes that it resolves another 8.1.6 bug which is returning invalid query results when we use the Parallel Query option on certain complex queries. The 8.1.6.0 bug you reference wasn't a problem for us, just follow their instructions to check for the potential corruption. Thanks for the update on Note 109595.1. I'll go look at it now.

Hi,

For those who are considering moving to 8.1.6 on Solaris or are already on

8.1.6.0 I Just wonder if you would apply patch 8.1.6.1.1. The base version
8.1.6.0 itself has a potential problem ("database may crash after upgrade to
8.1.6" alert - Note 96117.1), but patch 8.1.6.1.1 introduces another
problem: ORA-04045 and ORA-600 on startup (Note 109595.1). I do not want to receive page messages early Sunday AM when databases are started after cold backup.
