You need the CD to install Oracle Software (that's
only once). Although the install process does create
an instance for you, the others you could create
yourself, as many as you want as long as you have
enough resources.
I could find only this document on Metalink, but it's
for Win NT. You'll get some idea at least to
incorporate it on Sun.
