Could you supply the error? Do you have "Controlfile reuse" listed in = the
"create controlfile" script? I am just taking a WAG here, since I am = not
sure of what Oracle is complaining about. "Controlfile Reuse" will = reuse
the existing controlfiles with the new specs you specify.

Please I need the details, 'cause I tried to recreate the control file = and

The only way to change the parameter MAXDATAFILES is to rebuild your controlfile.
If you know how create control file then its ok ,else=20 reply back for the details.
