RE: How to change the value of MAXDATAFILES of a running instance

I have to recreate the control file but even by editing the generated = file
and modifying the necessary things, it doesn't work. I think that I've = to
do something else too. I don't know what !!!!

This may not be my place.... but can't you just make the change in the init.ora
file
and bounce the instance. I don't believe you have to recreate the controlfile...
but
I believe you will have to bounce the instance to have the new setting = take
effect.?

Please let me know if this is not correct.
