Parallel everything
Java everywhere with world's-fastest java RTE
Full object relational database
Internet-enabled
massive VLDB support
complete integrated LOB implemetation
iFS

Features of 8.1.x:

Parallel DML and IDL with exactly the right conditions
Java via PL/SQL with a fairly mediocre java RTE
Object ideas tacked haphazardly onto an RDBMS
WebDB included
Partitions and IOT's that break most PL/SQL
LOB implementation that is only good compared to Oracle 7 LONG
We never promised iFS as part of this release...
