I just did it two weeks ago on a 50GB database with just a few tables (<100) but lots of data. No major malfunctions... yet.

Has anyone altered their tables to set the "monitoring" attribute in orderto use dbms_stats to gather "stale" statistics. If so how large is your database, how many tables are being monitored, and have you seen any impact from the monitoring?
