Well, if whoever did this Access database has any idea how to make any sort of well-engineered application and normalized database..... there I go with my stereotypes again, bad Lyall, bad.

Anyways, I'd do a total re-engineer if this doesn't have to be done yesterday. Otherwise, you could create your Oracle database, ODBC over to it and start copying. I'm not sure how Access works with Oracle that much. But you could also create the 30 or so tables on the newly created Oracle db, then get some delimited files from access. Then use SQL*Loader. There are many possibilities.

Subject: Moving from Access to oracle 8.0

All,
currently we have a Access database with 25 to 30 tables. Client is planning to no longer use Access and to migrate the whole database to Oracle. What is the best way to move from Access to oracle 8.0. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks.
Radhika.
