JavaScript and PL/SQL?????

Happy Hump Day!

I need to integrate some JavaScript in a PL/SQL piece on a OAS webserver. I've looked at THE example in Chapter 6 of the Oracle Application Server Web Toolkit Reference book (the clock thingy), but I don't get it. Does anybody know of a good book or web-based tutorial on this stuff? Everything on OTN appears to be Java.
