RE: Implemented TNS_ADMIN on NT?

I've tried it on previous versions of Oracle (7.3.4 or 8.0.5, I think] and it worked well.
The only limitation is (was) that you can't use an UNC name ( \\server\path\to\tnsnames.ora ) but have to map a network drive.

I didn't use the registry setting, but this other Oracle feature :

in my local tnsnames.ora, I put :

ifile=H:\something\filename.ext

ifile=D:\something_else\filename.ext

SERVICE= ... So, if your service is not found in the first file ( due to absence, or network failure ), the second file is processed, then the services define in tnsnames.ora.

HTH, Denis.
