Look at the other "developer" oriented Oracle lists on fatcity.com, such as: ODTUG-DEV2K-L_at_fatcity.com

   http://www.odtug.com/subscrib.htm

or:

   {send a message with "HELP" to:
    ListGuru_at_fatcity.com (note EXACT spelling of 'ListGuru')}

they have been around on fatcity.com for longer than this one.

There was a fascinating and heated argument about how the users are getting spun around on the end of a rope while the various vendors are wildly fighting for market position (technology churn).

I think the advice is that because Oracle is planning to obsolete client-server during the further evolution of their web based "tools", getting away from client-server is to be the preferred way of doing things.

My completely uneducated guess is that Oracle8i and Developer6i are probably the best combination at this point.

bye!
