It depends what the patch contains, if it is just bin files, the installer makes a copy of the old ones before the patch is installed. You may just have to shutdown your database and move a few bin files around (provided there haven't been any dictionary changes). Don't they send backout instructions?

It's been my experience that except for patches for specific bugs, there usually isn't a "deinstall" option for patchsets. Instead you need to reinstall the base release from the media and then apply any intermediate patches/patchsets to get back to the level you want.
