Should I always switch to the target database(by . oraenv or export ORACLE_SID=target) to connect to both the databases in order to issue RMAN commands? For eg. to resync the database, Can't I get into rcat database and issue the command? In other words, should I always switch to target database to issue any RMAN commands? Appreciate a reply.
