Oracle-L: Output to Ascii File from Oracle Form/Report

I am trying to output data from Oracle tables to Ascii File from Forms 4.5.

There R 2 methods :
1) Run Product Report and In Report Menu use print to File option and output it to Ascii File.
Problem : There's always a funny character ( top portion is oval and bottom portion is a plus sign) at the beginning and end of the ascii file. 2) Use package TEXT_IO
Have yet to try.

Any suggestions in getting rid of funny character in Method 1 ?
