I have dealt with Platinum Technology's DB-Vision, TS-Reorg, and Desktop DBA products. I have found their technical support to be excellent both before and after the sell. I would bet money that you could call their 800 support number right now and be speaking to a real person within 10 seconds after placing the call. That person will then immediately connect you to another person in the appropriate support group. Compare that with the Oracle voice mail hell that leaves you waiting and waiting "for the next available representative" while they try to keep you from getting upset by playing some sort of relaxing music over and over again. One day I even received an unexpected call from the director of the TS-Reorg development lab to discuss some recommended enhancements that I had included in an email to their support group. They seem to be very open and responsive to new ideas or recommendations for improvement. They are also getting more and more into the internet and they have a pretty informative and helpful web page (www.platinum.com). I found it very helpful to be able to download Desktop DBA updates directly from their web page.

Based on my personal experience, I would say that Platinum's tech support group has been one of the most helpful and responsive groups that I have dealt with. You should expect to continue to receive the same level of support and enthusiasm that you are experiencing now well after the check has cleared.

I am conducting an evaluation of Platinum Technology's DB-Vision product.

To date, the technical staff has been extremely responsive to the various issues
 that have come up: they do everything they can to resolve problems, they follow
 up on questions, and are generally behaving like the Perfect Vendor.

So much so, that I fear their concern and support will evaporate after The Check
 clears.

My question is: what has been the experience of those of you whose checks to
 Platinum have already cleared? Has there been any noticeable change in the
 level of support/commitment? Or, is their current enthusiasm something to  expect from here on out???
