hello ,
I am using INSERT command to load 1000,000 records in a table. but after 50000 records I get a unique constraint error. Oracle rollback all the records that have been inserted till that point of time.

Is their any feature in oracle 9i with which i will be able to log only the failed records rather than failing the entire bulk load .
Hoping for early respones.

Oracle will only rollback if you don't handle the exception/ error. So, it sounds like you will have to change your program.

How is this a Precompiler question?

In 9i, there is no clause like "LOG ERRORS" in 10g.

Look Up

Plsql Bulk Collect and Bulk Inserts
Also look up SAVE EXCEPTIONS clause.

This will allow you to insert and save exception rows (and report) while all the other rows still process.

Use the LIMIT clause on the Bulk Collect also, and its infinately scaleable to any number of rows.
