Hi Friends,

What is use of Error code while using in Raise_application_error?

Why ranges they set -20000 to -20999 for error code?

can any one clarify my doubts.

You can use different numbers to distinct between error-types if you would like. That way, you can raise exceptions in one place and handle them in another part of your code.
But very often, only one or two are used, in conjunction with a separate message-coding system.
