hi
1.i have certain fmb (front end executables-oracle forms ) to be downloaded from unix server to windows desktop .can anybody provide the steps.
2.upon downloading the fmb (front end executables-oracle forms ) to windows machine is it necesary to install oracle forms in the system to view the forms.

FTP is the way to do that; if you don't know how to use its command-line version, use one of FTP clients.

I believe you'll have to install Developer Suite in order to be able to open the form; otherwise, I don't see a way to do that. A form isn't an image which can be opened with many tools (Paint, ACDSee, Irfan View, etc.)

You could convert the 'fmb' file to an 'fmt' file, 'ftp' it to your PC, and then look at it with a flat-file editor.

Depending on the version of Forms, you may be able to convert it to 'xml'.

Upd: Sorry - strike out the 'xml', it only exists for 9i and higher.
