Take the current date at beginning, from time to time take the date and if it exceeds 10 minutes raise an error.
But what happens to what you did? What happens to what you didn't do?

I am using update statement in the procedure.
I want to check if procedure containing update statement and takes more than 10 min to execute then i want to halt execution otherwise continue with procedure.
Can we check how much time the the query takes in the procedure?
Thanks,
