Hi All

I have a question regarding ALTER USER statement; I need to specify " (double quotes, single quotes) and other special charachters) in my ALTER USER abc IDENTIFIED BY statement; how is that possible? Few examples could be

Test|"
p”ssw0rd --> missing double quote in identifier
p(ssw0rd --> missing or invalid option
"p(ssw0rd" --> This works

can anyone suggest me how to make this possible to except double quotes (but only once in a password)

Thanks

" is not a valid character.
This is explained in documentation: ALTER USER

But you don't read it as you don't read the warning in the forum description: "Newbies should not post to this forum!"
And the expert notion defined in the sticky: Not an EXPERT? Post in the NEWBIES forum, NOT here
And the rules described in: OraFAQ Forum Guide
