Hi All,

While I am executing below query in the toad. I am getting ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel error. I have tried 3-4 times but I am getting same error.

Could you suggest me is it database problem or query problem

SELECT si.supplier_id, stc.supplier_type_id, si.site_id, sa.activity_id, sp.inventory_item_id, commod_group_id,
percentile_disc(0.5) within group (order by recovery_weeks desc) "ttr"
    FROM erp_bcp_site_info si,
         erp_bcp_site_activities sa,
         erp_bcp_site_act_alt_sites saas,
         (SELECT site_id, inventory_item_id
              FROM erp_bcp_site_parts
          GROUP BY site_id, inventory_item_id) sp,
         erp_mfdr_part_attributes pa,
         erp_bcp_st_commod_groups cg,
         erp_bcp_supplier_type_cross stc
   WHERE sa.site_id = si.site_id
     AND saas.site_activity_id = sa.site_activity_id
     AND sp.site_id = si.site_id
     AND pa.inventory_item_id = sp.inventory_item_id
     and cg.commod_group_name (+) = pa.commodity_code2
     and stc.supplier_id = si.supplier_id
     AND si.supplier_id NOT IN (
            SELECT DISTINCT supplier_id
                       FROM erp_bcp_site_act_parts sap,
                            erp_bcp_site_activities sa,
                            erp_bcp_site_info si
                      WHERE sa.site_activity_id = sap.site_activity_id
                        AND si.site_id = sa.site_id)
GROUP BY si.supplier_id, stc.supplier_type_id, si.site_id, sa.activity_id, sp.inventory_item_id, commod_group_id

Thanks in Advance,
Amit

You could also do a couple of elimination tests

1. If you can run the same query on a different database, do it.

2. Run the query via a local sqlplus on the server rather than using sql*net over a network.
that will rule out communications problem via sql*net.

3. Copy the data to another schema, and re-run the query against the new schema objects.
this might suggest issues with data block/corruptions.

4. Bounce the database and re-run the query. This might point to sql-cache, sga problem.

5. re-write the query, or build up the query from scratch to identify the exact point which the error occurs.
