Restriction on Application Level Users [message #299329]

I want to ask u i have defined users in a table with the user name is it possible to implement security by selecting the users from table and giving them rights like update,view,insert etc or assigning role etc
Any suggestion

What exactly do you want to achieve?
Privileges are granted with "grant" statement and they are static (as are user account).
