what would be the datatype(most flexible) to store time field in oracle.
my project centres around time factor and involves
a lot manipulations.

I've chosen varchar2,but can it be stored in date (time) format.
if so please tell me the codings

yes varchar2 can be used to store date:time.
you need to mask the date.
