Please anyone can guide.
i have several databases (9i and 10g), often need to transfer data from one to other. all are behind firewall. They cant talk to each other. What is best and easy way to automate this task? also some database have blob and clob data. Some data need to mask (encrypt too).
Thanks in advance!!

If they are behind firewall, there is no way to automate the process otherwise there is a hole in your firewalls.

Automate in the sense using some procedure - passing information to procedure and procedure will create file from table- than ftp that file to other database and load into table.
(can do ftp from one databse to other)

export, transfert file, connect, transfer file, connect transfer file... for any number of firewalls you have to cross and finally import.

Also could you tell me difference between imp/exp and utl_file/sqlldr? both way we can copy data from one table to other? what are pros/cons for each other?
