Patches are downloadable from Metalink only; you can install them as any other software product (running the setup).

1- Go to http://metalink.oracle.com
2- Login with your credentials or register if you are a new member
3- Click on "Patches and Updates" tab
4- Click the link : " Quick Links to the Latest Patchsets, Mini Packs, and Maintenance Packs ", in the patches part
5- Point to "developer forms" (or any other product), choose the platform and the release.
6- The latest versions of the patches appear
7- Click on the desired patch to view its details and download it, or download it directly without viewing the details . . .

Regards!

Rajy

But i Havent "Support Identifier" for registration

If you have downloaded an Oracle database, Developer Suite, etc. and used it for educational purposes (i.e. free of charge), you didn't get a CSI (Support Identifier). Once you start making money with your application, you must purchase the product(s), pay (a lot) of money and then you'll get a CSI. For us, mortals, employer (i.e. a company you work for) buys a licence and gets the CSI which is then used during registration process.

In other words: you might not be able to register with Metalink at all (but it depends on your current status).

Dear friend could you please tell me if I install a developer patch then is it true that it's version will be changed. Or suppose I have compiled a form on a machine that has purchased version of Oracle Developer 6i with latest patch will this FMX perfectly run on a machine that has the free oracle developer version for education use?

I ask b/c I have been told that when you install a patch it changes your developer version and now if you try to use any FMX generated by this Developer will not run on a machine that has the free version of developer?

Patches do change version number, but - in most cases - not "major" numbers are changed.

I don't have Developer Suite release name description, but here's an example of an Oracle database release name description: Oracle 9.2.0.1.0 means:

9 - Major database release number
2 - Database Maintenance release number
0 - Application server release number
1 - Component specific release number
0 - Platform specific release number

Patch will, for example (note that this really IS an example, an imaginary one) modify release name to 9.2.0.2.0, the next one to 9.2.0.2.1, the third patch will modify it to 9.2.0.3.1 etc.

Basically, main release name remains the same. Developer Suite 6i will remain 6i. As patches (usually) fix bugs from previous releases, it is expected that forms designed by Forms 6i patch 13 will run on any 6i release. However, you may expect that a form developed by using a higher release number which uses some "fixed" features will NOT properly work on lower release number.

So: it will work, but not always.
