Hi All,

I have a table TABLEA with two fields say name varchar(10),desc varchar(240).
We want to save the o/p of this into a csv file and have created a batch file with the output as
select name,desc from tablea

the problem is that when we open the data in csv file , the columns have expanded to fill in the 10 &250 size. The o/p in excel is not proper to look at. i tried using trim but still it is giving us problem
Using TOAD if i do a copy and paste into csv/xls then it gives the proper desired format.
Please advic

Use SQL*Plus and "set trimout off"
