i have code behind :
host('del '||v_dir||'get_file_in.irn',no_screen);

please anyone help me,why this syntax not work...

I am not sure, what you want. Maybe you are trying to execute SQL*Plus HOST command. Its syntax is a little different and is described in the above link. But it is limited to SQL*Plus only, for example you cannot run it from PL/SQL block.

Because this is neither SQL nor PL/SQL.
