I am facing very strange behaviour from 'SQL Plus' on server. It does not give any error when I log In but after that it responds to any SQL statement by printing '2' on the screen. For any select, update, create, modify statemnet I am getting output as '2' on screen.

Copy and paste what you have instead of describing it.

Educate guessing: you need to enter the end-of-statement character.
Either a forward slash ( / ) or a semi-colon ( ; ).

But as I said: that's an educated guess based upon the limited information I can work on Wink

This is what your getting right?

SQL> select * from dual
  2

You have to put ; at the end of each statement.

SQL> select * from dual;

D
-
X

Kiran.
