Hi

I have got a confusion over a question, kindly help me out.

Q1) Which background process will rollback the transactions (uncommitted) in case of system crash occurs?

a) if server machine crashes?
b) if client machine crashes?

I am confused over SMON & PMON, as both are said to do rollback.

Thanks..

a) smon (or new server (shadow) process, the one that first reaches the block)
b) pmon (or smon if pmon does not terminate before instance shut down)

Michel
