Hi,

I installed oracle10g(R2) for a german client, it went on well, but daily oracle shuts down automatically. (dont know at what time).
Next day, when I try to connect to oracle it shows "Oracle Shared memory realm doesnot exist", again I have to restart the oracle, after that it is working fine and next day again it shuts down. I tried re-installing also.
How it's happening?
Why it's happening?

Thank you.

bye
Karthik,

Is the box it's installed on rebooting?

What sort of shutdown is it performing (look in the ALert.log)

I don't know what this means but it is surely not good.

But now your database is up and running, I advice you to execute a "dbverify" (search for this, or "dbv", in documentation) on the file.

Sooner or later as you have an error (but only you know which one it is as you don't translate the message).
Investigate on the error and execute dbverify.
