With knowledge of code, a good debugging tool and the use of the force. Alternatively you could try to be a bit less vague

I AM YOUR FATHER!

you could always try DBMS_DEBUG,... but its hard to use raw, which is why pablolee said get a tool for plsql debugging. The use DBMS_DEBUG behind the scenes so you don't have to deal with the messiness of the details.

Or, you could do it old school and use dbms_output.

Or, you could do it not quite as old school and write messages out to real tables via an autonomous_transaction.

Then there is DBMS_PROFILE (though not really a debugging tool per say). And you can set trace events in the database but I don't think that is what you really want.

Me, I like dbms_output and message tables via autonomous_transactions. I have seen cool debuggers for PL/SQL but my code never has enough bugs in it to warrant paying for them (hehehe).

Good luck, Kevin

Can you please give me an example of how dbms_debug is used for debugging? I have used dbms_output before..but not dbms_debug.

Thanks

Do you honestly expect somebody to Read The Fine Manual to you so you don't have to bother to read it yourself?
