hello every one

i have oracle 8.1.7 and reports 6.0
my requirement is that i am sending a parameter to reports and after the parameter in input by user in form then i add closing and opening parenthesis in that string i.e


now when i send this :par1 to form there i want to display it in reports but i receive the following error when i run my form and click run_rep button

REP-0159 Syntax Error on command line

i have tried to look for it help and it do say something about brackets and parenthesis but i didn't get it

any one can help

Could you show us the whole code, not only ":par1:='('||:par1||')';"?

Use :par1:='''||:par1||''',

hope it will resolve the problem.
