Documentation is strictly dependant on the procedures in place at that company.

Generally, the responsibilites of the developers are
- Develop Code to a specification (formal or informal)
- Test code to an agreed standard (formal or informal)

The may also include some or all of
- Analyse request for changes
- Produce specifications for changes
- Perform UAT and Integration testing
- Change control procedures
- Release Build
- Application Support

What form these responsibilites take depends entirely on the company, its procedures and the design and development methodologies in use.

There are no hard and fast guidelines for this sort of thing.
Some companies regard developers as code monkeys, to be given a detailed spec and simply churn out code.
Others expect their developers to be much more self motivating, and to take control of the whole development process.

Another required asset for a developer is the ability to use normal text in writing.
So, not u, but you; not r but are.
Make it a habit to write in plain English; first of all it looks more professional and secondly it is required here as by forum rules.
